The man in charge of a ballooning festival in New Jersey has found the secret of keeping the skies clear of rain. It’s not a rain dance, but it’s close. It involves knives, onions and peppers, and a virgin. Don’t worry, no virgins are harmed during the ritual. She simply has to walk the corners of the field, muttering words and stabbing the produce with the knives. It’s worked for the last two years. Or at least that’s why they believe the rain has held off.
